12 Jan African Circus, Japanese Tea Making Ceremony and other events taking place this week!
Thank you to all of those who contact me with details of events going on in Qatar. Coming Up In Qatar is a community page which was set up to share all the events going on in Qatar- no matter how small. It’s wonderful that so many of you share what you hear about, attend things and are enjoying your free time in Qatar.
During these next few months, the social scene in Doha will be in full swing. There are so many outdoors events coming up so let’s make the most of the fresh air and get out.

From 8th to 21st January the African Circus will be at Hyatt Plaza food court from 5.30pm. Why not pop along and enjoy free entertainment. Having never seen them before I did a bit of research on the internet. If they are the same African Circus on YouTube, they are absolutely amazing! I won’t be missing this!

Have you ever wondered what a tea ceremony is. I’ve only ever been to a Japanese Tea Making Ceremony. That was fascinating to watch. It is an activity involving the ceremonial preparation of tea.
The Westin Hotel is a hosting a Masterclass in Chinese Tea making on 14th January at 10am. JING Tea is based on the ancient tradition of Chinese Tea Ceremonies and this masterclass will take you through the origin, history, preparation and history while you sit back and relax and sip samples. Places are limited and admission is FREE. Please call 4492 1733 to reserve your place.

If you feel like getting out and about, then why not jump on a bike and cycle across the desert on a fatbike. This promises to be a great adventure where you will see wildlife and learn about culture. You need to be able to ride a bike (I think a relatively obvious prerequisite) and be fairly fit. The trip is 2-3 hours long and you have to be at least 9 years old to join.
For further details or to book, please contact Blue Pearl. More details at www.clubbluepearl.com

While in Qatar you cannot afford to miss out on the diversity of the nationalities living side by side, especially learn about the culture of our hosts – Qataris. Falcons are a major part of the national heritage and every year they host a Falcon Festival. This year it is from 28 January at Mesaieed (Sealine).

Well, well, well… If Heavy Metal music is your thing, now is the time to get ready to let your hair down (whatever its length!) and head bang the night away! For fans of AC/DC, Alive Entertainment is organising a tribute night at The Grand Hyatt on 19th January. All the details you need are on the poster attached.
If you are running an event and want us to share it, please email Jo at comingupinqatar@yahoo.com or contact us through our facebook page – COMING UP IN QATAR.
Have a great week everyone!
